Foundation Phase (Grade R to 3)

Our Pre-Primary and Junior Primary work closely together ensuring a smooth transition from Grade R to Grade 1. The Foundation Phase is one of the most exciting and critical educational stages of a learner’s educational journey.

All Foundation Phase learners are exposed to computer classes and specialised Physical Education, including swimming, under the supervision of fully trained Learn to Swim coaches. Younger learners who are still building up their water confidence have the opportunity to become ‘water aware’ in the splash pool.

 

This phase also boasts  a specialised reader library where a full time librarian manages the smooth and timely transition of readers for each learner in each class up to Grade 6.

We are extremely excited to be one of the few schools to have introduced Robotics and Coding from Grade R-9 as a stand alone subject that teaches core skills and foundational coding concepts in the classroom and fully equipped computer lab.

The Foundation Phase offers English (Home Language), Afrikaans (First Additional Language), Mathematics and Life Skills and is fully CAPS compliant. Setswana has been introduced from Grade 1-4, as a second additional language.
